The Treasury

The Treasury are responsible for reforming and releasing new Tax Regimes as required. This affects the way all bookkeepers perform their jobs. All bookkeepers must be vigilant in knowing the requirements and making sure they meet them.

  • Draft Tax Agent Services Bill Released
    2007
    The long awaited legislation was finally released on 7 May 2007 for public consultation. It is important to note that this is not law yet and there may be 
    changes before the measures become final law.

    2008                    
    On the 29 May 2008, The Assistant Treasurer and Minister for Competition Policy and Consumer Affairs, Chris Bowen MP, today released for public comment an exposure draft package that will reform the registration and regulation of entities providing tax agent services for a fee.
